Our geological studies focus on regional delineation and light hydrocarbon potential in oil and gas formations such as the Duvernay, Muskwa, Nordegg and Montney. We provide a comprehensive set of geological tests to determine areas rich in oil, gas and condensate, and identify mineral and organic components critical to strategic fracture design. Analyses vary by study, and can include:

  • Source Rock Analysis (SRA)
  • S1 – free hydrocarbon compositional analysis
  • Mineralogy by XRD
  • Hot rolling dispersion
  • Cation exchange capacity
  • Capillary suction time analysis
  • Pulse decay permeability
  • Porosity
  • Mercury porosimetry
  • Thin section analysis
  • Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis
  • Hydrocarbon in place, and liquids yield modeling and mapping (including cross sections, TOC, Tmax and mineralogy)
