Acetic Acid

Acetic acid is an organic acid that can be pumped on its own or in a blend with hydrochloric acid (HCl). Acetic Acid will react slower than HCl, allowing for the treatment to penetrate deeper into formations than HCl alone. Also, the pH of the acid remains lower longer, allowing for better clean-up after the acid treatment, as no solids are re-precipitated.

• Allows acid to penetrate deeper into formation
• Allows for the pH of acid to remain lower for a longer period improving treatment result
• Will help control iron, especially in combination with IC-1
